About Operation Warm and Fuzzy

I am a simple mom with an idea. I started crocheting hats, scarves and mittens for the homeless, but found that the price of yarn was getting high. I wanted to devise a way for me to continue making items for the homeless, without going broke myself! So here's how it works:

1) You can mail me any type and amount of yarn. I will use every inch of it to create a hat, scarf, and/or mittens for the homeless. When it is complete, I will post a picture of it on this blog, and donate it to the San Antonio Metropolitan Ministries, in your name. http://www.samm.org/

2) Another option is to order the yarn online and have it sent directly to me. (Joann's, lion brand yarn are good sites).

Flowers for Haiti

I wanted to inspire people to give to the American Red Cross, to help the Haitians in their time of struggle. So I decided to crochet flower pins and give them away to anyone who opted to give to the red cross. The flowers are done and are on their way to their new owners. I raised $100 for the Red Cross. I feel happy about this small but meaningful contribution. But don't ask...I'm not making the flower pins anymore. I want to get back to my hats and scarves for the homeless. I'm also in the process of planning a "baby and toiletry drive"....more on this later.
